The Felixstowe Master Mariners Club
The FMMC is an active organisation whose roots lie in raising modest amounts for worthy nautical charities
The members currently meet each month, on the third Tuesday, for lunch at the Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club and, on most occasions we are afterwards entertained by a speaker. The subjects covered are mainly nautical though we do have some very interesting non-nautical subjects from time to time.
The object of the Club is to maintain and foster, locally, social and professional comradeship amongst Master Mariners, and to afford the opportunity for discussion of matters nautical and general interest, and to sponsor selected projects of special nautical interest, and, for that purpose, to meet regularly at Luncheon or Dinner, at a place selected by the Committee.
Membership is open to suitably qualified persons – Full Members are Master Mariners holding a valid United Kingdom Certificate of Competency as Master. Associate Members are Officers holdingvalid UK Certificate of Competency as Officer of the Watch (OOW) and other persons who, in the opinion of the Committee, are suitable to become members of the Club, preference being given to those persons having some connection with sea the maritime industry Honorary Members – Persons whose status is, in the opinion of the Committee, such as to render it desirable that they should be Honorary Members.
